Route:
Along the safety and beauty of the Leeds Liverpool Canal
towpath from Rodley
to Victoria Park
in Keighley.
Dust off your bike or get out your
walking/
running shoes and burn some calories?
Who can enter:
Anyone. You don't have to be an
athlete to do something amazing - simply begin by amazing
yourself!
Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
What's
it for:
This event is for pleasure, fund raising and friendship. IT IS NOT A RACE,
we want you to enjoy a walk, jog, run or cycle with friends
along our beautiful canal. Do it with family or friends and
have a great day out.
At the same time you will enjoy
knowing you are helping a Cancer Research UK to raise vital
funds in this poor economic climate. So it is important you
try to raise some sponsorship for this great cause.
What
happens afterwards:
We'll welcome you into the finish at Victoria Park to give you
some water and your well deserved
"I
Did Something Amazing"
medal. If you have collected all your sponsorship upfront, we
would kindly request you hand it to us to send to Cancer
Research UK, or you can post it to us later.
Then you are free to do whatever you like or why not arrange to meet with friends at Victoria Park and have
a well deserved picnic on the park?
Raising
sponsorship money:
Remember this is a FUN event and the aim is to enjoy your
self first. Raising money for Cancer Research UK should not be
a chore and some people will raise more money than others.
Last year we had 21 people NOT TURN UP and did not let us
know, so this year we have to charge £5 for every
registration. Every penny of your £5 goes to Cancer Research
UK.
Important
notes:
There are no officials or marshals along the course.
You will need to bring your own water / drinks for the event
You will need to arrange your own transport to / from the
event start / finish
